Our Story

Since 2015, Dr. Luis Medina has provided specialized infectious disease care in Las Vegas.

His approach combines high-level clinical practice with academic leadership and a commitment to public health.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, he led the implementation of major testing centers in Nevada and provided key medical advice in the safe reopening of the Las Vegas Strip.

Today, Academic Infectious Disease Physicians is established as a leading clinic in the region, integrating evidence-based medicine, empathy, and academic excellence.

Academic Mission

We are home to Nevada’s first Infectious Diseases Fellowship training program, a pioneering effort that prepares future specialists under high ethical, scientific, and clinical standards.

We believe that knowledge should be shared, and that continuing medical education is an essential part of quality care.

Telemedicine Leadership

Dr. Luis Medina was Medical Director of Telemedicine at University Medical Center (UMC), overseeing remote care for tens of thousands of patients with an average 5-star satisfaction rating.

His expertise in virtual care has enabled him to deliver safe, efficient, and humane consultations across geographic boundaries.
